Vivian Newcomb of Tucson died February 1, 2013 at the age of 76. She was born In Deming, New Mexico on November 17, 1936 to Howard Andrew and Dena Bertha ( Bauman) Birchfield. Vivian was an executive secretary at Hewett-Packard, was a Peach farmer in Apple Valley, California, a loving homemaker and a waitress at numerous golf club houses. Survivors include her daughters Erika Slover of Pearce, Arizona and Becky Newcomb of Tucson, Arizona and her grandson Casey Cantrell. Vivian is also survived by her siblings Howard Birchfield, Florence Langston, Midge Camara and Betty Feerick and special friends Billy Taylor and Kathy Czechsnyder. Preceding her in death was her husband James Newcomb, a son Joseph Newcomb and 2 sisters. A Rosary will be offered at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at St. Judes Thaddeus Church with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Pearce Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her name to Carondelet Hospice.
